HP Laserjet 1300N
Microsoft Windows 11

My trusty old Laserjet 1300 is now printing far too light, and I have found no way to adjust its darkness or print density. It is not a toner problem. I suspect the problem started when I upgraded to Windows 11.  I would hate to throw it away just because I can't adjust the darkness. Can anyone help? Thanks.

What driver installed? Check this way on your PC. Go to control panel, right click on devices and printers and select open from the drop down menu.  Right click on the printer icon and select open from the drop down menu.  Click on the advanced tab and you will see what driver is installed. Postback that name.

Sorry for the slow response (I didn't get an email alert). I hope you're still willing to help!

The installed driver is "hp LaserJet 1300 PCL 5".

Thank you!
