HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf Multifunction Printer

Hi,

Cannot get my printer working after computer upgrade to windows 10. In manage your printer device, it does not show printer status, print test page, printer properties. Thought it might be a driver issue but I had installed it. Here is a screen shot as to what is shown on my settings.
My printer is LJ M1212nf MFP,  not LJ Pro M1212nf MFP…are they both the same?
Much appreciate your help!

Hi @jkm252,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Is the copy working fine?

If the copy is working fine this could be a driver issue, follow the below steps.

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and Install the drivers, follow the steps below:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Click here and install the full feature driver

Assign Manual IP to the printer:

1) Print a Network configuration page from the printer's control panel.

2) Look for IP address from the Network configuration page.

3) Open web browser - Chrome or IE or any other browser that you are using.

4) Type the IP address mentioned on the Network configuration page into the browser's address bar or URL bar and press enter button.

5) Go to the Network tab.

6) Click on Networking from the left pane.

7) Then click on Network Address (IP).

:smiling_face_with_sunglasses: Click on Manual IP Address and go to suggest a Manual IP.

9) Scroll down the screen and select Manual DNS server.

10) Enter the Primary and secondary DNS server from the Network Configuration page into the Manual Preferred DNS server field.

11) Click on Apply.

Refer to the video link for step-by-step instructions

Note: The video is for win 8 but the steps are similar for other operating systems as well. You need to enter the IP address in the browser's URL or the address bar to access the printer page.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi,

thanks for your help as appreciated. Got to step 12 to install the driver. Went to the HP website to select and download the printer driver. On installation, the printer could not be found…tried putting in both the Hardware or IPv4 address but will not recognize. The printer does show up in the Bluetooth & other devices but not in Printer & scanners…thought it might be a firewall issue so turned off Norton and did the printer download again but not the problem. Printed the network config info as per your instructions but did not change the network IP address yet…still not sure why  the printer does not show up in the Printer & scanners panel. Your thoughts!

Hi @jkm252,

Let's try NVRAM reset and see how it goes.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted. -

Hi,

Performed the reset default in step 2 and NVRAM initialization in step 3 as per your instructions. The control panel did not read “ PERFORM STORAGE INIT” during the NVRAM initialization when I ran the procedure. Turned off the printer/removed usb cable and reinstalled the printer drivers from HP website as thought it might help, but still got the message “ printer not found” during the setup. Have not performed the super NVRAM initialization yet.
Here is pics as to what is currently shown on my computer panel. Thanks for your patience and further thoughts?

Hi @jkm252,

If the NVRAM did not work then, This might require one on one interaction to fix the issue
