HP Colour Laserjet Pro M452nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've just installed a Laserjet Pro M452nw (CF388A) on Windows 10 (version 1809). The software installation completes ok and the Test Page at the end of the installation prints fine. My connection is via ethernet network cable, not USB. The printer appears in my device list and I can print to it from my PC using HP Smart, or via the hpconnected.com email mechanism. However, none of my Windows applications are able to print to it - when I try, the print queue very briefly shows the print job but it then disappears without printing. I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling / rebooting several times without success.

When I attempt to print a Test Page from the driver dialog, I get an error "Test page failed to print". The Windows print troubleshooter doesn't find any issues. I have also tried the "HP Print and Scan Doctor" software and again no issues are found.

The printer is installed on a "WSD Port" and the driver is named "HP Color Laserjet Pro M452 PCL-6". Print processor is "winprint", default data type "RAW". The latest drivers are installed.

Any help gratefully received!

Knowing that it was an issue with access permissions I found another thread that pinpointed the problem and solution:

The fix was to ensure that my user account had full control of the TEMP folder.

I have just discovered by accident that I can print from Windows applications when I run them elevated (as Administrator)!
