A strange problem has occured with my Laserjet P2015 connected to my Mac (with OS X 10.14.6).
When I want to print a PDF or other documents, the document gets into the printer que normally, and from the Mac it looks as if it prints fine. But the P2015 does not react, it just stays on with the green "ready lamp". There are no error messages.
I have tried the following without sucess:
- to reset the printer system and re-install the printer
- connected the P2015 via a USB-cable and via a TimeCapsule USB
- the status page comes out as normal and without any errors
I then tried to connect the P2015 via USB to a Windows10 laptop and that works fine.
Any idea why this happens? It seems to be a driver software problem, to my knowledge there has been no software updates recently (I am on 10.14.6)

Actually, I found out...
the OS X driver for the P2015 series seems outdated, when I re-installed the printer with the Generic Postscipt driver, the P2015 prints just fine again, both via USB and via the TimeCapsule.

In Mac OS, one can choose a ”Generic driver” in the system/printer preferences.
for a solution - See this thread:

The solution is to download (and install) this package which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:

Easy Admin did nothing. Easy Startup did nothing. 5.1 drivers did nothing. This worked for me!
If this solved your issue, please thumbs up and mark as solved!

Indeed this works. But the generic driver loses many of the features that the specific driver contains. E.g. try printing a photograph using the generic driver and you'll find that it is much more pixilated than the specific P2015 driver.
