HP Laserjet p1102w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Due to the fact that very frequently I experienced  issues with wireless printing from a macbook pro as well as from a lenovo laptop, I wanted to update the firmware of my p1102w printer (CE658A). I have tried several ways but didn't succeed.

I have tried via the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows as is recommended .

I have installed the printer as default printer. It does get recognised. It is also  possible to print a test page.

Unfortunately when I try to run the Firmware Update Utility Program it doesn't recognise the printer anymore nor in wireless mode neither connected via USB.

I have tried to go to the"Printers  and scanners" it does confirm that the default printer is the p102w although it comes with the message:  "stuurprogramma is niet beschikbaar", translated:  "driver is  not available". When I try to to go via the manager button to  run the problem solving program it comes up with the message (HP EWS heeft geen stuurprogramma")HP EWS doesn't have a driver".  The Windows problem solving program doesn't seem to be capable of solving this problem.

When I run the HP Firmware Update Utility Program The following message appears: "Cannot find a HP LaserJet Professional P100/P1560/P1600
Series printer installed on this system."

Could Anyone help me out? Any help would be very much appreciated!

@Jurgen_T Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are unable to install the drivers.

Please perform the clean reinstallation of Pre-installed HP drivers

1.       In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.       Select your HP Printer

3.       Select Uninstall

4.       In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.       In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’

6.       Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.       Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.       Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.       Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.   Select Ok

11.   Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.   Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.
