Hi,
I need a solution for this issue:
1. I own an iMac and a MacBook Pro, bot working on Big Sur 11.4, freshly updated.
2. My printer is a Laserjet pro mfp m28a, a multifunction printer without wifi and just USB connetion
3. When I connect the USB, both the Macs recognize correctly the printer, producer and model type
4. the HP easy start app works fine from the recognizing of the printer, until the switch to the HP app
5. the HP app doesn't recognize the printer, manually or automatic mode. I select the USB connection type, the app starts searching, but nothing finding..... until the message "retry or cancel"
Please, HELP ME

Thanks for the update, so we have some progress 🙂
Let's try updating the latest printer firmware, I believe this should help:
Follow the steps to update the printer, once completed restart both the printer and then Mac and check if you may scan then.
Please let me know the results,
Shlomi

Hi,
Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.
Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip
As soon as HP Easy start prompts to install HP Smart, close HP Easy Start and press the Skip to Software Download button, then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation and check for any difference.

Hi,
thanks for the help.
Unfortunately I tried it, now the printer work properly and is well recognized, but the scanning function it doesn't.
It looks like this feature is not compatible with Big Sur, however, I will use this unit just as a simple printer, but I'm not happy of this.
Have a nice day
