I am having problems with my HP printer. Basically, I can only print using the HP Smart App and can only print PDF documents. Also, when I try to print using the HP Smart App the only documents it will display are PDF documents - it will not display word documents.
When I am in a document and try to print the documents by using the drop down menu (I guess that is what you call it) I get an error message that says there is something wrong with the printer setup.
I can jury rig printing by saving every document I want to print as a PDF document on my desktop. Then I can go to my HP Smart App and print the document, but this is a pain.
Also, if you try and pull up the print menu by pressing Ctrl+Shift+P it simply will not bring up the menu.
The printer has worked wonderfully for a number of years and started having this problem about 3-4 months ago.

My suggestion to deal with printing issues is to try using the HP Smart UPD printer driver. https://support.hp.com/ca-en/help/smartupd
I think that HP's use of Smart too much has confused people. This is an independent driver not part of HP Smart Print.
The failure of menus to open could also be an issue with Windows, so if the driver does not fix the issue you might want to do some troubleshooting on that side too.
