Welcome to the HP English Community --
I doubt you were talking to HP.
Printers don't cost that much in the consumer market.
A scammer might try to take you for that kind of money -- this sort of skulduggery happens all the time.
People wander out onto the Internet, they don't know where they are, and Poof!
The victim is trapped, lied to, fleeced, and relieved of privacy, money, and sanity.
----------------------------------------------------
If you are purchasing a giant HP commercial grade specialty printer, sure - these machines are expensive.
You'd know if you needed something like that -- commercial printing on this scale is an industry in and of itself.
You'd not find such a beast here, at your local online tech market, or at the HP Store.
- Decide what you want in terms of "print", "scan", and other features.
- Check whether your flavor of Linux supports a driver for the printer you want. (HPLIP)
- Go to the HP Store and buy a printer to use with your Linux system.
- Go back to HPLIP to get your driver(s).
