I am having issues loading drivers for HP Officejet 6700 Premium for Windows 7. I have tried the "Driver-Product Installation Software" (OJ6700_1315-1.exe) download and the "Basic Drivers" (OJ6700_Basicx64_1315.exe) download from the HP website, but each time they fail to find the drivers. Using either method, it searches "Windows Update" and says the drivers are not found. I have the original installation disc, but it doesn't seem to have the drivers on it either. Where can I download the actual drivers from HP? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry,
you has a problem with your Win 7 64-bit System.
Clean your system. Win7 never searches for new drivers on the Internet by itself. Your system is not OK!
All drivers are included in the package!

Hello @UncleLee ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
The HP software must be completely uninstalled and removed of the system.
First download only this complete package: "HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Printer series - H711 Full Feature Software and Driver ", File name: OJ6700_1315-1.exe (114.1 MB)
Then proceed as follows:
Check the system for
- TuneUp`s
- Optimization Tools
- Cleanup Tools
disable them, better uninstall them. Next...
- Disconnect printer/scanner from computer- Disable WLAN and/or remove the USB or LAN cable.- Do not switch off the printer >> unplug the power cord from the socket!
- right-click Start, search for "control panel" and open "Programs and Features"
uninstall all HP printer software > via "Programs and Features" - right-click Start, search for "control panel" and open "Devices and Printers"
In the "Devices and Printers" window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.” - Restart the PC
- Close all programs
- Change File-Explorer-Settings:View > Options > "Change folder and search options" > Tab "View"
- enable > Show hidden files, folders and drives
- uncheck > Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
- search for "HP [printer name]" and delete all this folders
- Empty the TEMP folders
A) C:\Users\[Your user account]\AppData\Local\Temp\
B) C:\Windows\Temp\ system files cannot be deleted! - Reconnect the printer to the power supply and switch it on (if this does not happen automatically)
- Please note: WLAN has to be deactivated!
- Restart the PC
- Close all programs
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads click on the EXE, see above.
Via USB, means wait until the installation asks to connect the printer/scanner.
Document error messages, even better is a screenshot and upload here.
The network configuration or the type of connection can be changed later, Changing from a USB to a Wireless Connection .
Note:
Change the File Explorer settings again -
- enable > Don`t show hidden files, folders or drives
- click button > Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
- OK
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
Andreas

USB.
FYI: Not sure if this matters, I have two profiles set up. I have tried loading the drivers from each of the profiles with the same results. I also tried going in via Admin, with the same results. It searches Windows Update and the drivers are not found.

Wrong installation
You need a account with administration rights!
No internet no WLAN and no WiFi both notebook and printer!
Repeat the installation and delete all HP drivers and folders, siehe message 2 and only USB.
