@Hdnsn, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're stuck on a login screen after resetting or upgrading your HP laptop from Windows 10 to Windows 11, and now it's asking for an account that looks like an internal HP domain (e.g., hdhs@hp.com), which is not your personal or official HP account. Here’s what might be happening and what you can do:
🔍 What's Happening?
- Your laptop may have been pre-configured for HP internal use or enterprise setup.
- The prompt for an @hp.com email is likely part of HP's internal setup or Autopilot/Intune enrollment.
- This often occurs with corporate/enterprise devices or refurbished HP laptops that were not properly wiped before being sold or reused.
✅ What You Can Try
1. Reset Windows (Clean Install)
To bypass the enterprise setup and start fresh:
💡 If you can access any screen:
- Force restart the device (hold the power button down for 10 seconds).
- On startup, press F11 repeatedly to access HP Recovery Mode.
- Choose "Troubleshoot" > "Reset this PC" > "Remove everything".
- Follow the instructions to reset to factory state.
🧽 Or use a bootable USB (if above doesn't work):
- On another computer, go to the Windows 11 Download Page.
- Use the Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB.
- Plug it into your laptop, turn it on, and press Esc or F9/F10 to boot from USB.
- Choose Custom Install, delete existing partitions, and install fresh.
2. Check if You Bought a Corporate Device
If the laptop was bought used or from a marketplace, it may still be locked to a corporate HP tenant, which means:
- You won’t be able to use it normally until it’s removed from the organization's domain.
- You’ll need the original organization’s IT department to remove it from Microsoft Intune / Autopilot.
You can check this during setup — if you see messages like:
"This device is managed by your organization"
or
"Set up for work or school"
Then it’s enrolled in enterprise management.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
