Looking for Photosmart 7760 software

Just set up new Windows 11 on Dell desktop and can't find software for my Photosmart 7760 printer. Any suggestions?  Thanks

The HP Photosmart 7760 is an older printer model, and there are no dedicated Windows 11 drivers. You can still install it using the HP Universal Print Driver or by downloading the last available package for the Photosmart 7700 series, which works with newer Windows versions.

Download the Latest Available Driver

• Visit HP’s official support page for the Photosmart 7760 here: HP Photosmart 7760 Driver & Software Downloads.
• Select your operating system as Windows 11 (if listed) or Windows 10 (the package is compatible).
• Download and install the driver package.

Use HP Universal Print Driver (UPD)

• If the dedicated driver does not install, download the HP Universal Print Driver (PCL6 or PostScript).
• This driver allows basic printing functionality even for older printers on modern systems.
• You can find it on HP’s support site under “Universal Print Driver.”

Manual Add Printer (Windows 11)

• Go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners → Add device.
• If Windows doesn’t automatically detect the driver, choose Add manually → Add a local printer.
• Select Have Disk and point to the folder where you extracted the HP driver files.
• If unavailable, choose a generic HP DeskJet driver, which often works for Photosmart models.

Firmware and Compatibility Notes

• Since the Photosmart 7760 predates Windows 11, advanced features (like ink monitoring or photo card slots) may not be supported.
• Printing should still work reliably once the universal or legacy driver is installed.

• No full HP App integration: The printer won’t work with the HP App for scanning or advanced features.
• Basic functionality only: Expect printing support, but not all original features.
• Driver mismatch errors: If Windows Update tries to install a generic driver, you may need to manually override it with the downloaded package.

Start with the official HP driver package for the Photosmart 7700 series from the link above. If installation fails, fall back to the HP Universal Print Driver. This combination ensures you can continue using your Photosmart 7760 on Windows 11 for standard printing tasks.
