- google points to later drivers that cause error messages on clients.

- No forum posting for this was found.

so looking for HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (v7.0.0), it seems to have vanished from download page?

and why are " old " drivers hidden from users, or is there some contract that is needed for "get what we need"

Any product number that supports Universal PCL6 driver would probably be ok, but I'll send you few. brb

When drivers are superseded they are removed from the downloads, most often because the new driver contains fixes that were causing problems with the old driver.
