I have a HP laserjet Pro M148fdw. I lost the password and cannot access the settings to do a change network setting or do factory reset.

Hi @RozeMullins

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Losing the admin password for your HP LaserJet Pro M148dw can be frustrating, but you can reset the printer to regain access.

Here's how you can proceed:

1. Perform a Factory Reset

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Turn it back on while holding the Right Arrow Key and the Cancel (X) button.
  • Keep holding these buttons until the printer resets its NVRAM (non-volatile memory). This will restore the printer to factory-default settings.

2. Reconfigure the Printer

  • After the reset, you will need to reconfigure the printer, including network settings and any custom configurations.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
