I have lost the printer’s packaging and therefore the password for the various settings. How can I proceed?
Note that:

  1. the printer is connected via a USB cable

  2. I have already reset the printer, but I still always receive the message “incorrect password.”

Hi @XellFire,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To recover or reset the administrative password for your HP LaserJet MFC140w printer, try the following steps:

Embedded Web Server (EWS): Connect your printer to a network temporarily (if possible) since USB connections might not support accessing EWS. Through EWS, you can change settings including passwords by entering the printer's IP address into a web browser. If you're able to access the EWS, look for password or security settings to reset the password.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
