I used to be able to print on my M102w but since Big Sur I haven't been able to use it. I removed it from my Mac in hopes of re-installing it. The Mac printers interface finds it but then says that software is missing for this printer. I tried through HP Smart and it doesn't find it despite being connected on USB. Any help would be appreciated in getting my printer to work again. Thanks!

@Mateo6, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
This model printer is compatible with the HP Smart app and is Airprint compatible too. Let us try these steps:
Check for any software updates on Mac
Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.
Make sure the cable is directly connected between the Mac and the printer.
The use of a USB hub is not recommended. Also, make sure the cable is connected to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac.
Do you have an Anti-virus/firewall installed on the Mac? If yes, disable the same for time being.
You may check this in System Information > Applications.
- Check if the printer is getting recognized by your Mac:
- From the Apple menu, choose About This Mac.
- Click System Report.
- Under the Hardware heading on the left side of the System Information window, click USB.
USB 3 devices appear under USB 3.0 Bus, and USB 2 devices appear under USB 2.0 Bus.
Use the HP Smart app from the App Store. If this does not help, you may install the printer using Airprint drivers as shown in step 2 of this document.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
