Hi @Soloit,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw is experiencing faded or blurry color prints, follow these troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

Check the Print Settings:

  • Ensure that the print settings are correctly configured for the type of print job you are attempting. Check that the paper type and print quality settings match the paper loaded in the printer.

Use Genuine HP Toner Cartridges:

  • Verify that you are using genuine HP toner cartridges. Non-genuine or depleted cartridges can lead to print quality issues.

Check the Toner Levels:

  • Open the printer’s control panel menu and navigate to the supply status to check toner levels. Replace any cartridges that are low or empty.

Print a Supplies Status Page:

  • Print a supplies status page to assess the quality of the print. This can help determine if a particular color is causing the issue.

Inspect and Clean the Printer:

  • Check the inside of the printer for any loose toner or debris that might be affecting quality.
  • Use a clean, lint-free cloth to gently clean any visible toner residue.

Run a Cleaning Cycle:

  • Access the printer’s settings menu on the control panel and select the cleaning mode. This will remove excess toner from the imaging drum and can improve print quality.

Calibrate the Printer:

  • Open the printer’s settings menu and perform a color calibration to ensure colors are printed accurately and evenly.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure that your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware can lead to performance issues. Update using the HP app or through the HP website.

Paper Quality:

  • Ensure that the paper used is suitable for laser printers and matches the printer’s specifications.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
