Hello. I have been trying forever to get my Scan to Email Settings to work. Finally had time today to look into it. My ISP is Frontier. They no longer provide email accounts and have directed me to create a yahoo email account, which I did.
In the SMTP Gateway Settings, it wants me to enter Device's SMTP Gateway. Well, it appears it wants an IP address. I cannot find an IP address for the Yahoo Mail Server. All I can find is smtp.mail.**bleep**. I entered that in, enabled SSL Support for SMTP, entered in Port 465, Enabled SMTP Authentication, selected Use Public Credentials, for username I used my user name and @**bleep**, then entered my password.
The response states it cannot find the Gateway. So, that must mean it does not like the gateway name and needs an IP address.....is this correct???
Looking forward to assistance here.
Thank you.

Thank you for your response. I have checked the router settings, etc. All are correct. After further review, I have found that you are correct about the security being boosted by email providers. That security, will not permit scan to email to work properly. So, with that in mind, I still have scan to folder and will continue using that feature.
Thank you.

Check the network settings on the printer and make sure that you have a valid gateway and valid DNS settings. Your gateway address would normally be your router. As a DNS entry I suggest you use 8.8.8.8 which is google's public DNS server and tends to be very reliable in resolving addresses. I would also confirm with Yahoo regarding settings as most mail providers have boosted security considerably and this has made scan to email more difficult to configure.
