Hi, It appears that the Mac OS HP printer driver doesn't work with Mac OS26. Apparently the only available printer drivers for HP printers are only for Windows and none for Mac. My HP Envy Photo 6234 is only three years old and was quite expensive. Please let me know where can I get its compatible driver to print directly from MS Word.

Your HP Envy Photo 6234 does have Mac driver support, you won’t find a standalone “Mac OS 26 Tahoe” driver package, but HP provides compatibility through the HP Easy Start installer and the HP Smart app, which handle driver installation automatically for macOS.

 

To get the driver, download HP Easy Start. HP Easy Start (latest version: 16.8.12, released Jan 24, 2025) installs the correct drivers for macOS, including macOS 26 Tahoe.

 

Use the HP app available via the Mac App Store, this app connects your printer, installs drivers, and enables printing directly from MS Word and other apps.

Update Firmware

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware.

 

Steps to Install on macOS 26 Tahoe

Disconnect VPN if active (HP’s installer requires direct internet).

Download HP Easy Start from HP’s official support page.

Run the installer, it will detect your printer and install the correct Mac drivers.

If prompted, sign in with your HP account (mandatory for HP+ or Instant Ink models).

Once installed, test printing from MS Word to confirm driver functionality.

 

The fastest fix is to download HP Easy Start, let it install the driver, and then use the HP app for daily printing.
