Today I couldn't print because I got the error "can't open /private/var/spool/cups/tmp/..."

So I went on HP support website and the suggestion was to update firmware and OS printer drivers.

On this page https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/closure/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-m176-series/53034... I downloaded the updater.

The updating process was successful and also on the printer I could see on the display that firmware update was completed.

After restarting the printer I cannot see anything on the display and the printer is no longer visible on network.

I tried to do the firmware update again via usb but the printer is not recognised.

Could you please help me to solve this problem?
Thanks

Try to resend firmware through usb port.

Through computer don't know what it is when you plug into the usb cable but you can here ding-dong sound from computer so it knows something is there.

When resending firmware you have to see something processing on th led screen if there's not then need to go into printer property and change the connected port from USB-001 to 002,003.... if there're many usbs until you see anything processing on the led and hope it works after updated or you'll need to replace the formatter.

During updating firmware you don't need to resend firmware again and again when changing usb port. Only once will do.

I already tried but when I connect the printer to the PC the printer is not recognised as device and the update software cannot apply the firmware update.

Then you'll need to replace the formatter.

Sorry, what is the formatter?

HP Recommended

Formatter is the one where you plug USB or network cable onto and somebody calls it mother board.

I just tried with another PC (Windows 10) and another USB cable. I switched on the printer and then I connected the USB cable to the PC. Nothing happen, no sound and the device is not recognised.
