MFP M277 dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Moved my printer to another PC (also made by HP).  I downloaded the software for the MFP M277 DW but the auto duplexing does not work as the option is not available.  It was working on my old PC

1. I have tried many things like re installing software which did not work.

2. I have also tried the following but "Automatic" is not an option:

Enter Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
Right click the printer icon, then click Printer Properties.
Click the Device Settings tab.
Set the Automatic Two-Sided Duplex Accessory as installed and click OK to save the change.

3. Page 39 of the owners manual gave instructions also do not work and it only gives me the possibility for "Installed"

thank you

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums After reading your post I see that you the auto duplexing is not working after connecting the printer to new PC. I will be a delight to assist you here.

Superb analysis and brilliant diagnosis of the issue before posting. 🙂 Kudos to you on that score.:)

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did you do any changes on the printer?
  • Where did you download the printer driver from?

Meanwhile

Update the printer firmware.

Click here to download the printer firmware and install it.

Uninstall the printer at root level

Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.

Type %temp% in the run field, and click OK.

Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)

Open folder Util

Open folder CCC

Run the uninstall_ L4.bat

When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.

Type %programfiles% in the run field and click OK.

Delete any HP/Hewlett Packard folders.

Install Full feature driver from the HP website.

Click here to download full feature driver and run it to install.
