Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

we have a LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw that turn on, but the little touch screen no longer lights up.

I have tried hardwiring it to the network, as well as connecting a USB, but nothing will print.

When I use the HP Smart app to try to manage the unit, it shows up as a found printer, but shows offline and will not let me access it. How can I factory reset this unit to get it hopefully working again?

Thanks,

Nicoletta

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you want to reset the printer, I am glad to assist you.

You might have to perform a NAND reset on the printer to fix this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.

I hope this helps resolve this issue completely.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.

Hi! I've the same problem. I've a printer and I have the bad feeling that I did a great miskate by buying it. Still, I need to print something and I cannot, since my printer turns on but the LCD doesn't. Could you please send me the same procedure to reset my printer? I mean, I might reset it from settings, but since I do not see anything on the screen, I would like to know how chould I do the hard reset. Thank you.

Hi @Gregory0405,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

We have to perform an NVRAM Reset to restore the printer back to its original settings.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
