I have a new Lenovo ThinkBook 14 G4. When I connect my LaserJet Pro MFP M28W using a USB connection, it shows up as Ready in the print queue, but when I try to print a file from Word no print job it does not print and the print queue is empty. Please advise.

Check Basic Connections
- Use a different USB port on your laptop.
- Try another USB cable
- Ensure the printer is turned on and the display is not showing any errors.
Set Printer as Default
- Open Settings (Win + I) > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click on HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w and select Manage.
- Click Set as default.
Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor from HP's website.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix the issue
Reinstall the Printer Drivers
- Uninstall old drivers:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w and select Remove device.
- Also, uninstall HP drivers from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Restart your computer.
- Download & install the latest drivers from HP's official site.
Try a Test Print from Notepad
- Open Notepad.
- Type some text and go to File > Print.
- Select HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w and click Print.
- If it prints, the issue may be specific to Word.
Check Windows Update & Firmware
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.
- Update the printer firmware via HP Smart App or HP Support site.
