MY DESKJET 2700 HAS NEVER BEEN ABLE TO CONNECT TO WI-FI, REGARDLESS OF ALL OF THE SUGGESTED FIXES. NOW, ONE IS NOT ABLE TO SPEAK TO A SERVICE PERSON. AT ONE POINT I DID SOMEHOW AND THEY WERE UNHELPFUL.  HP BASICALLY SUCKS AND APPARENTLY ALWAYS WILL.

@bonjarta, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm really sorry to hear about the experience you’ve had with your DeskJet 2700 and especially the frustration it's caused over time. This is definitely not the experience we want you to have—not with the product, and certainly not with our support.

Let me try to help you get this resolved properly, once and for all.

Let’s start fresh with just a few quick questions so we can lock down the root of the issue and get your printer connected:

Do you see a blinking or solid blue light on the printer near the Wi-Fi icon?

What kind of network are you trying to connect to? (2.4GHz or 5GHz? The DeskJet 2700 series only supports 2.4GHz.)

Have you tried resetting the wireless settings on the printer? (This often clears hidden glitches.)

Factory Reset Wi-Fi on Printer

Press and hold the Cancel and Wireless buttons together for 5 seconds.

The wireless light should start blinking, indicating it’s in setup mode.

Use HP Smart App for Setup (best with a phone)

On your phone or computer, download/open the HP Smart App.

Tap “+ Add Printer” and follow the on-screen prompts.

Confirm network is 2.4

Some routers split 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz into different names. Make sure your device is connected to the 2.4GHz version before starting setup.

Reference:

I know this has been beyond frustrating, but I’m here and won’t leave you hanging. Let me know what happened when you last tried setup—and we’ll sort it out together. 💪

Take care and have a good day.

Hello Garp,

Again, I have repeatedly done all of your suggestions. I have no idea of what ghz my network is, I have a Breezeline ISP connection. And yes the blue light is blinking.

Hey @bonjarta,

Thank you for your response

Since the blue light is blinking, it means your device is currently in Wi-Fi setup mode. This is a good sign! It’s waiting to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

Refer to this guide to setup your unit on the network: HP printer setup (Wi-Fi network) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

my wireless network results print out reads PASS for everything, NO PROBLEMS FOUND, enabled and connected,

Number of 802.11 networks found:1

SSID   TP-Link c54_5G  with *5GHz wireless band frequency. But this router is a Dual Band as was confirmed during set up.

My wi-fi light is solid blue . But I can't print anything, my HP Smart Apps says I am offline?? If I try to "add a new printer"

it shows mine as  USB001 Offline.

If I use the USB connection it does print.

@bonjarta, Thank you for your response,

Let's try these steps:

First, unplug the printer completely, turn off your laptop and router, wait one minute, then power everything back on.

Next, let’s remove any old settings that could be causing problems. On your laptop, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Remove device. Then, go to Device Manager, under Print queues, and uninstall any drivers related to your printer. Now, reinstall it using HP Smart, this is the easiest way to ensure your printer is properly set up.

If the printer still doesn’t show up or keeps going offline, check your Wi-Fi network and make sure it’s connected to the same network as your laptop and phone. If possible, assign the printer a static IP address in your router settings so it doesn’t keep "disappearing."

If all else fails, try a factory reset on the printer (found in the settings menu) and start fresh.

Also, refer to these helpful guides (these are for your reference):

Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer | HP® Support

HP printer is offline or unavailable | HP® Support

HP Printers - Printer isn't available error (Android) | HP® Support

HP printer not found by the HP Smart app or operating system | HP® Support

I hope these steps help resolve the issue
