Deskjet Plus 4152
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I recently purchased  a HP Deskjet 4152 printer on ebay

I have a problem with this printer. I have the printer attached to my Windows 10 PC via a USB cable, and the printer is plugged into an electrical socket. But when I try to print, nothing happens, the printer remains silent. So I ran HP Scan and Print Doctor, and it found the printer. I believe it downloaded some updates. And there was a note that it had fixed some printer problems. It printed what seemed to be a good black and white and color test document. On my Windows computer, I have the HP 4152 set as my default printer. But when I try to print documents, nothing happens, the printer remains silent, and the ON/OFF button appears to be going off.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here?

Thank you

@JimP3, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to print from your computer. Are you using the HP Smart app to print? Let us try these steps:

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

If the power light is blinking, make sure the ink cartridge access door is closed.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
