Hi @RMA-1_,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Sorry to hear about the trouble. If you've changed the PIN on your HP Smart Tank 581 All-in-One Printer and it's no longer functioning correctly, it's likely related to Wi-Fi Direct or WPS PIN settings, which are used for secure wireless connections.
Let’s try the steps below to resolve the issue:
1. Restore Wi-Fi Setup Mode
This resets the network settings and allows you to reconnect the printer:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button until the Power and Wireless lights blink.
- This puts the printer back into Wi-Fi setup mode.
2. Reconfigure the Printer in the HP Smart App
- Open the HP printer setup (HP app) | HP® Support.
- Remove the printer if it’s already added.
- Click “Add Printer” and follow the steps to reconnect using the new PIN or Wi-Fi credentials.
3. Find or Reset the WPS PIN
If you're being asked for a WPS PIN:
- Look for it on the printer’s control panel or printed info sheet.
- If it’s expired or not working, restart the printer and try again.
- More help here: Find the wireless network password or PIN to connect an HP printer | HP® Support
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
