I connected my Hp printer to my MacBook through USB cable, I downloaded the Hp smart but I can't connect my printer because wifi has to be connected but on my old laptop, it never needed that, I just connect it and print. The wireless also doesn't work. I tried printing since it is connected to my MacBook but when I do it says no printing jobs. My printer is HP Ink Tank 360 series.

@MC2341, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're facing a few challenges with connecting your HP Ink Tank 360 printer to your MacBook. The issue could stem from a few different things, including driver problems, connection issues, or conflicting software. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to help you get it working:

Check the USB Connection:

Ensure that the USB cable between your printer and MacBook is properly plugged in.

Try using a different USB port on your MacBook.

If possible, use a different USB cable to rule out any cable issues.

Check Printer Status:

Make sure the printer is powered on and ready to print (check the display screen or LED lights for any error messages).

Ensure there are no paper jams or ink issues.

Remove Old Printer Drivers (if any):

Sometimes, old drivers might conflict with new installations. Follow these steps:

Open System Preferences on your MacBook.

Go to Printers & Scanners.

Select the HP printer, then click the minus sign to remove it.

Reinstall HP Printer Drivers:

Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for the HP Ink Tank 360 series specific to your macOS version.

Follow the installation instructions, and make sure the printer is plugged into the MacBook via USB during the installation.

After installation, try adding the printer back in Printers & Scanners via System Preferences.

Check HP Smart App:

Since you're using the HP Smart app, ensure it is fully updated.

Open the HP Smart app, go to Printers in the app, and see if it detects the printer. If not, try restarting both the printer and the app.

Reset the Printing System (Mac):

Sometimes, resetting the entire printing system on macOS can resolve printer issues.

Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Right-click (or control-click) on the printer list and choose Reset Printing System.

After resetting, try adding the printer again.

Test Printer with Test Page:

Try printing a test page directly from the printer's control panel (if available) to ensure it's functioning properly.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
