Hi @mscamp,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If your MacBook Pro cannot find your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 to add the printer, the issue may be related to network connection, drivers, or printer settings. Here's how you can troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

1. Ensure Printer is Powered On and Connected to the Same Network

  • Make sure the printer is turned on and properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your MacBook Pro.
  • On the printer's control panel, check the Wi-Fi status:
    • If the printer is not connected to the network, go to the Wireless Settings on the printer, and reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.

2. Restart Printer and MacBook Pro

  • Restart the printer by turning it off, unplugging it for 30 seconds, and then plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Restart your MacBook Pro to clear any potential connection issues.

3. Check for Printer in AirPrint

  • Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click the "+" button to add a new printer.
  • If your printer is on the same network and AirPrint is available, the Mac should automatically detect it and allow you to add it as an AirPrint printer.

4. Manually Enter Printer’s IP Address

  • On your printer, find its IP address:
    • On the printer control panel, go to Wireless Settings or Network Settings to view the IP address.
  • On your Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click "+", then choose IP at the top.
  • Enter the printer’s IP address and click Add. Select AirPrint or the appropriate driver.

5. Update Printer Drivers

  • Ensure you have the latest HP drivers for your OfficeJet Pro 9015. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support website for macOS.
  • Alternatively, you can use the HP Smart app for macOS to manage the printer setup and connectivity.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @mscamp,

Please find the remaining steps below.

6. Reset the Printing System

If the printer was previously installed but isn't showing now, reset the printing system:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Ctrl-click) in the printer list and select Reset Printing System.
  • After resetting, click the "+" button to re-add the printer.

7. Check for Firewall or Security Software

  • If you are using any firewall or security software on your Mac, it might be blocking the connection to the printer. Check your firewall settings to ensure the printer's IP address or HP Smart app is allowed.

8. Check Wi-Fi Signal Strength

  • If the printer is far from the Wi-Fi router or there’s a weak signal, the Mac may not detect it. Try moving the printer closer to the router and retrying.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
