CLP-620ND
macOS 10.15 Catalina

I'm not ready to come to terms that my CLP-620ND won't work with Catalina MacOS.

Are HP going to release any generic 64-bit drivers that will work with the printer?

No.

Any supported Samsung printer is listed in below support document, your printer is not listed as compatible with Catalina:

https://support.hp.com/hr-en/document/c06520117

You may try installing the C460fw printer driver and use it as a workaround, it seems to use the same printing language nad provide color printing, so should likely work for your printer.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/SS/SL-C460FW/C460_Series_Mac_Driver_V1.10.00.dmg

You should launch the file to extract and then run the installer within the Print data folder (or similar).

Next, power on the printer and connect it to your Mac.

From System Preferences > Printers & Scanners Click the plus sign and select your printer.

Within the Use drop-down menu click on Select Printer Software and locate the Samsung Xpress C460 model, then press Add and try printing.
