I have a question concerning possibly monthly maintenance for an HP 8022 printer. I just recently replaced the printhead on my printer which I found online because HP does not sell them. My printer quality had gotten bad and needed replacing. This was a cheaper option to replacement of printer. How do I keep the printhead from getting clogged and maintain the printer?

Leave the printer on all the time so that it can wake from sleep mode to perform maintenance. I also usually recommend that a user print a couple of sheets of color content a week to reduce the possibility of clogging. Part of the challenge is that some inks are pigment based and if left without printing for a  period of time, the pigments separate from the carrier fluid, sink to the bottom and clog the nozzles.
