Hi @tozy-56,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

That message indicates a missing or corrupted HPStatusBL.dll file, which is part of the HP printer software for your HP Smart Tank 6001. It usually happens after an incomplete uninstall, update failure, or registry corruption.

Here’s the recommended fix:

Why This Happens

  • The HP printer software didn’t fully install or was partially removed.
  • Windows is trying to load a DLL that no longer exists.
  • Registry still points to the old HPStatusBL.dll file.

Step-by-Step Solution

1. Uninstall HP Printer Software Completely

  • Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and hit Enter.
  • Find HP Smart Tank 6000 series software and uninstall it.
  • Restart your PC.

2. Remove Startup Entry

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Go to the Startup tab.
  • If you see HPStatusBL.dll or HP Smart Tank entry, disable it.

3. Clean Registry (Optional but Recommended)

  • Press Windows + R, type regedit.
  • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
  • Delete any entry referencing HPStatusBL.dll. (Be careful, only remove HP-related entries.)

4. Reinstall HP Full Feature Software

5. Verify

  • After reboot, the error should disappear.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
