HP DeskJet 2600 All in one series printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Lenovo lap top and had an old HP photosmart printer that I was having issues with in scanning.  Got a new hopefully easier system for wireless print/scan/copy in the DeskJet 2600 All in one .  Prior to getting new printer I deleted all HP off my computer so I would only have what I needed for the new system and that did include the HP Smart app.  Now I need that for the new printer wireless and the app store will not let me have it as it says I have that app.  Suggestions?

The HP Smart Windows application did recently update.

That said,

As long as you did not do something clever like edit the Registry and break something,

then

The issue you describe is more likely related to the Microsoft Store and not the particular application you are trying to install.

Easy and Quick...

Even a healthy installation of the Store needs to update itself on occasion.

You could try checking that the Store and "other" apps are not in need of an update.

Microsoft Store - Application Updates

NOTE:
Disconnect from Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection before downloading.

Windows (Start) > Microsoft Store

In the upper right corner, click on the three horizontal dots ...

Select Settings > App updates > "Update apps automatically" = ON

In the upper right corner, click on the three horizontal dots ...

Select Downloads and Updates > Get Updates

After that, Restart the computer and log in - Try again...

What else?

From Microsoft...

Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store

AND

Open your favorite search engine in your browser and search for what others have had to do to fix the Store.

For example, search for something like "microsoft app says I have the app and I do not"

Google lists many, many articles on the subject including searches using other / similar wording to describe the problem.

A few examples from the Microsoft Community

"You own this app" but in all apps it says "not available" to install.

Says I already own an app, but it will not install.

Windows Store says I have an App installed when i do not and it will not allow me to download it

and
