Mismatch Paper Size Error

HP Recommended
HP OfficeJet 8500 All-In-One
macOS 10.15 Catalina

My printer continuously gives me a “Paper Mismatch Error” when I copy from the top feeder AND when i print from my laptop.  I have tried factory reset, didn’t work, I have tried powering off and on, didn’t work.  Is there another fix??

@Torideg, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

  • What size paper are you using?
  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word, or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Make sure the papers are properly loaded in the input tray. You may refer to - Loading Paper and Envelopes for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer Series

Update the printer firmware

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
