HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer

Since I couldn't reply to to existing posts regarding this topic. I just wanted to post what seemed to work for me. I use my printer in a home office and when I came back from a week long vacation I started getting this error message.

  1.  As mentioned in this document, I used the lever to take out the printerhead carriage while the printer was on. I then unplugged the printer. I removed each printer cartridge from the printerhead carriage (4 total) and inspected it for any damage parts. I did notice that the blue cartridge seemed to have a small leak although they were all genuine HP cartridges. So I decided to install all brand new ink cartridges.
  2. I reinstalled the printerhead and install the new printer cartridges (4 total) one at a time and then plugged the printer back in. The printer went through the reboot process.
  3. It does asked me if I want to perform an "alignment", however, I decline and defer the alignment because I noticed previously that after I performed the "alignment" process is when I would get the error message. So for now that seems to be working. My printer is approx 8yrs old and I'm not opposed to getting a new one in the future, however, this one is perfectly functional for my needs and I would hate to have to buy a brand new one over what seems like a random issue/error message. I hope this helps!
