HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A message came up on the printer LCD and asked if I wanted to do an alignment. The printer had been working fine but I said OK to do the alignment.  It printed out the alignment page and everything looked fine. Then it said to put the alignment page on the printer glass to be scanned and I did. After hitting scan, it runs for a bit and then says the page couldn't be scanned  The it asks to print or scan the page again.

It goes in that circle. So how do I exit this loop so I can go back to printing as I was?

Hi @dresdenron,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with aligning your Printer.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

C) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to troubleshoot further.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Irwin6,

Thank you for the response.

Before I got your response I tried shutting the printer off then back on. That didn't work. So I shut off the printer and then unplugged the power cord from the back of the printer and waited a few minutes. It then started working OK again when powered up again.

I will keep your response handy because I don't trust anything in the digital world today, even after 40 years of buying HP printers.
