Can anyone here tell me when the Printer Driver for HP 6940 on Mac will be fixed?

PLEASE HELP.   I love my old HP and would really like to keep it, however, I can't keep stalling my work output because of this snafu. I need to know if HP is intent on crippling their users like this? Or if they are trying  to fix the problem? I have already bought a new Epson and will refrain from taking it out of the box if there is a near-term fix. There seems to be no way to contact  HP Customer Support and no information coming out of them.  (Thank goodness I didn't go out and purchase a newer HP, because I see from these reports that those owners are having the same trouble I am with my old 6940.)

Are there any Experts here who have any clue about what is happening here?  Or do I have to just become an ex-HP customer?

The solution is to download (and install) this package which will update drivers AND THE CERTIFICATE:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-printer-essen...

If the link comes up blank, try right clicking and saving it. If you install this package and still have trouble, try uninstalling your printer and reinstalling.

Easy Admin did nothing. Easy Startup did nothing. 5.1 drivers did nothing. This worked for me!

If this solved your issue, please thumbs up and mark as solved!
