Hi @tdcottam,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
To set the default printing preferences to single-sided for your HP Envy 6000 Series printer, follow these steps:
For Windows
Open Devices and Printers:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers (or Printers & Scanners in Settings for Windows 10/11).
Set Printing Preferences:
- Right-click on your HP Envy 6000 Series printer and select Printing Preferences.
- In the Printing Preferences window, look for the option related to Duplex Printing or Print on Both Sides.
- Set this option to None or Off to disable double-sided printing.
- Click Apply and then OK to save the changes.
Check Application-Specific Settings:
- When printing from an application (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Reader), go to the Print dialog.
- Click on Printer Properties or Preferences and ensure that the duplex printing option is set to Off or None.
Using HP Smart App
Open HP Smart App:
- Launch the HP Smart app on your computer.
Access Printer Settings:
- Click on your printer to open its settings.
- Look for the Print Settings or Preferences section.
Change Default Print Settings:
- In the print settings, ensure that Two-Sided Printing or Duplex Printing is set to Off or None.
Save the Settings:
- Save the changes to ensure that single-sided printing is the default setting.
Additional Tips
Printer Default Settings:
- Some HP printers allow you to set default print settings directly from the printer's control panel. Check your printer's manual for instructions on accessing and changing these settings.
Update Printer Driver:
- Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed from the HP Support website.
By following these steps, you should be able to set single-sided printing as the default for your HP Envy 6000 Series printer. If you still encounter issues,
consider checking for any firmware updates for your printer or contacting HP Support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
