HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer
macOS 15.0 Sequoia

I have shut down and restarted all of my devices. I've deleted the printer from my MacBook. It still can't detect it. I've tried adding it using the IP address. Doesn't work. I have removed and reconnected the wi -fi to the printer. I have done everything that the internet says to do, and still, my Apple products can't detect my printer. Can someone help?

Hi @Gina_la_Gringa

While I don´t know the technical specification of your Wifi router network, let me tell you that this issue usually happens when the Network Internet provider router is not using a 2.4G network connection.

Checking on printer specifications Envy 7640, shows the next:

  •  Envy 7640 wireless operations are compatible with 2.4 GHz routers only.
  • So, you may need to contact your Internet provider for a Wireless setup to enable 2.4G network and then connecting the printer to that network.
  • This is a limitation with some older printers that are not enabled to operate on modern Wifi routers.

For an alternative your can enable the Wifi-Direct option on your printer and check if that works, following steps from the next video:
