Hi @Phlwoodman,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your printer keeps saying "Busy" and won't print anything else, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
1. Cancel Print Jobs
- Go to your computer's Printers & Scanners settings.
- Find your printer in the list, click on it, and select Open Queue.
- Cancel any print jobs that are stuck or still in the queue.
2. Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
3. Check for Connectivity Issues
- Ensure the printer is connected to the network properly (if it's a wireless printer).
- For USB connections, make sure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
4. Reset the Printer
- Some printers have a reset option in the settings menu. Check your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
5. Update Printer Drivers
- Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
6. Run Printer Troubleshooter (Windows)
- On Windows, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Printer and run the troubleshooter.
7. Check Printer Settings
- Make sure the printer is set as the default printer on your computer.
8. Look for Error Messages
- Check the printer’s display for any error messages or warnings that might indicate what the problem is.
9. Clear Paper Jams
- Even if it seems unrelated, double-check for any paper jams that might be causing the printer to remain busy.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
