I recently bought the printer, HP Envy 6020e and it worked fine after initial setup. However, I have had to change routers and now I cannot print as HP Smart says that is offline?

After following an earlier support discussion I deleted all the software on the PC and then loaded HP Smart again and tried to install the latest firmware/driver.

Unfortunately, the printer is now stuck with an E9 error code which a factory reset of the printer does not fix and the firmware/driver download fails rto install.

How do I fix this?

An E9 error occurs when a problem occurs during a printer firmware update.

  1. Set up the wireless setup again.

For more information, go to Wireless Printer Setup.

  2. Touch the Information button .

If the information page prints, the printer is back to normal state.

If the printer fails to print the Information page, it is still in recovery mode and needs to download the firmware again.

    NOTE:

During recovery mode, the printer automatically downloads firmware from the cloud. Leave the printer about 2 hours, depending on your network speed, to complete firmware download and update.

Let me know if this helps.
