Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

When I tried to install my new HP inkjet printer to my HP laptop, the 123.hp.com app tries to charge me 9.99 for driver updates. Do I have to pay to use this printer?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

 

No, HP Smart app (Print/Scan) is a free download.  You do not have to pay for the app.

 

Make sure it's downloaded from official Microsoft Store (for Windows), Play Store (for Android), Apple Store (for iPhone) etc.

 

Which printer model is that?  Download the HP FULL software solution from the Hp.com web (free as well!)
