It just started one day, my printer software no longer works. Although I can still print and copy, scan and other functions won't work any more. I tried to run it again but it won't do anything.

Hi! @Von_Roven, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!
I understand you have issues scanning from your printer.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Do you see the scanner bulb glowing when you scan from your printer?
As you mentioned you are unable to scan from your printer but you can print and make a copy without any issues.
Please try the steps recommended below.
If the copy works fine uninstall the printer software from the root level and install the full feature printer software on your PC.
In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
Select your HP printer.
Select Uninstall.
In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
Click on Drivers tab.
Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
Select OK.
Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
Close Devices and Printers.
Link to update the full feature printer software.
Also, download and run print and scan doctor on your PC and check if it helps.
Refer this article to know more information about running print and scan doctor on your PC.
Also, try using HP smart app on your PC to scan and check if the issue persists.
