Hi @ConstanzaB
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I’m sorry to hear that your HP Tango X printer isn’t powering on or connecting to Wi-Fi. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to help get it back up and running.
1. Check the Power Supply:
- Verify the Power Cable: Ensure the power cord is properly connected to both the printer and the electrical outlet.
- Try a Different Outlet: If the printer still doesn’t power on, plug it into a different outlet to rule out any issues with the current one.
- Check for a Power Button: Some printers have a small power button (especially on compact models like the Tango). Make sure you’ve pressed it.
2. Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer (if it's on).
- Unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the printer, then turn the printer back on.
This can sometimes reset the internal components of the printer and resolve minor power issues.
3. Check for Any Error Lights or Messages:
- If the printer powers on but there are error messages or lights flashing, check the HP Tango X user manual for guidance on what the lights or messages mean. Some error codes will indicate hardware issues or need for additional troubleshooting steps.
4. Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues:
If the printer has power but isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi, here’s what you can do:
Re-connect to Wi-Fi:
- On the printer’s display (if it turns on), go to Wi-Fi settings.
- Find your network and re-enter the Wi-Fi password.
- Ensure the printer is connected to the correct network (same one as your computer or phone).
Reset the Printer’s Network Settings:
- If the printer still isn’t connecting, try resetting the network settings to factory defaults.
- On the printer’s display, navigate to Setup > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults.
- After resetting, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network as you would with a new setup
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
