@BobMsPrinter, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you might be experiencing issues with your HP 4635 printer not responding or failing to print from your Mac. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the problem:

Check the Print Queue

  • Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP 4635 from the list of printers and click Open Print Queue.
  • If there are any pending jobs, clear them and try printing again.

Reset the Printing System

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control-click) on the list of printers and choose Reset printing system.
  • After resetting, add your HP 4635 printer back and try printing again.

Check for Driver Updates

  • Ensure your HP 4635 has the latest drivers installed. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click Options & Supplies. You can check for updates from here.
  • Alternatively, visit the HP Support site to download the latest drivers for macOS.

Check Document Format

  • Sometimes, specific document types (like large PDFs or certain file formats) may not print properly. Try printing a different document (e.g., a simple text file) to rule out any issues with the file itself.

Connection Type

  • If you’re using Wi-Fi, ensure that your Mac and printer are connected to the same network.
  • If connected via USB, try a different USB cable or port.

Restart Printer and Mac

  • Restart both your Mac and printer to refresh any temporary issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
