Hi @Joymar28
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer's power cord is not fitting properly and is loose, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check the Power Cord and Connector
- Inspect the Connector: Examine the end of the power cord that connects to the printer. Look for any visible damage or debris that might prevent a secure connection.
- Try a Different Outlet: Plug the power cord into a different electrical outlet to rule out issues with the outlet itself.
2. Use the Correct Power Cord
- Verify Compatibility: Ensure that you are using the correct power cord for your specific printer model. Using an incompatible cord can lead to a poor fit.
- Replacement Cord: If the cord seems damaged or is not the correct type, consider purchasing a compatible replacement power cord.
3. Check the Printer's Power Port
- Inspect the Printer Port: Look at the power port on the printer for any signs of damage or wear. If the port is loose or damaged, it may need repair.
- Clean the Port: If you see any debris inside the port, gently clean it out using a soft brush or compressed air.
4. Secure the Connection
- Ensure that the power cord is inserted firmly into the printer’s power port. If it feels loose, double-check that it is pushed in all the way.
5. Power Cycle the Printer
- If the printer is already partially connected, try turning it on by pressing the power button while ensuring the cord is secure.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
