My printer is "stuck" on the language screen, I cannot advance past this screen, and I cannot select English to advance to a yes/no screen.  

> The English selection has a star at the right end of the line.
> I can select a different language and it will advance to the yes/no screen

> I have tried a factory reset with no luck.

I would like to be able to use the touch screen but can't do that without getting past this screen.

I.e. the printer has already adopted the English language.

 

What happens when you touch the Home button? (Control Panel Features )

Nothing -- The return button, home button, both act as if they are dead.

For now, let us try these steps:

 

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect printer from computer- Disable WLAN, WiFi and/or remove the USB or LAN cable.- Do not switch off the printer >> unplug the power cord from the socket!
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
    Do not connect to the computer
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

If the error persists, then take a photo and upload here, click on the icon "Insert photos", "Set format = Large".

No real change.  I can now get the home and return buttons to register a beep when tapped, but no other response.

Where was the printer purchased?
Have the toners been replaced recently?

Purchased via Amazon--Dec 2019
Cartridges last replaced  March 2021
This problem just started about 30-days ago.

Turn off the printer
Remove all toner cartridges
The cartridge drawer and cover must be closed.
Turn on the printer and wait for the initialization to finish
What is shown on the display?
Please take a photo and upload it.
