I have tried downloading the Firmware Update version 2025A in order to allow non-HP cartridges and refilled cartridges, but I get the message that the "This Firmware Updater does not contain upgrades for this device." I got it from the OfficeJet 6968 page, so why wouldn't it have upgrades? And the problem persists -- the printer rejects all refilled or non-HP cartridges. Isn't that what the Firmware is supposed to allow? Any advice?

Thank you. I finally figured out that the Test Report would tell me if the Firmware was installed. I figured out how to print a Test Report, and the Firmware was indeed updated. I unplugged the printer (before shutting it off with the button) and let it sit for, well I forgot about it and it was several hours! Also restarted the computer a couple of times in the last 24 hours. And now the desired firmware features are working--accepting refilled cartridges. Thanks so much.
