HP OfficeJet 5258 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

My HP OfficeJet 5258 used to print 8 1/2" x 11"certificates perfectly. Now it prints them 1" to the left, not centered like it used to.

Hi @PatJeanne,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the printing alignment on your HP OfficeJet 5258 may have been thrown off. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue.

  • Check Paper Alignment: Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray. It should be aligned properly against the guides.
  • Printer Settings: Check the printer settings on your computer or the printer's control panel. Make sure the paper size and type settings match the size and type of paper you're using.
  • Driver Update: Ensure that your printer driver is up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause printing issues.
  • Calibrate Printer: Some printers have a calibration or alignment function that can help correct printing alignment issues. Check your printer's manual or settings menu for this option.
  • Print Preview: Before printing, preview the document to see if it appears centered on the page. If it looks off-center in the preview, adjust the document layout or margins as needed.
  • Reset Printer: Try resetting the printer to its default settings. This can sometimes resolve various printing issues.

By going through these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the alignment issue and get your certificates printing centered again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
