My new Officejet pro 9730e can't be scheduled to turn off at a specific time, like the 7740 that it replaced, and won't turn off after the specified inactive time period.

Curious --

 

The on / off schedule facility is listed in the specifications.

 

Check in the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

 Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

OR

 HP Laser Printers - Using the Printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

If asked enter the printer’s PIN number –

The default PIN might be located on the back or inside the printer (ink access area).

See your printer's user guide for additional information.

Open your Browser

Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Tab Settings > Power Management > Schedule On/Off

Alternate format EWS

Open your Browser

Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section General > Power Settings > Energy Settings / Power Schedule
