Hi @Dhruva4595,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your PC is not allowing printer sharing for your HP Smart Tank 525 printer, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check Network and Sharing Settings:

  • Open the Control Panel on your PC.
  • Navigate to Network and Sharing Center.
  • Click on Change advanced sharing settings.
  • Make sure that Network discovery and File and printer sharing are turned on.

Ensure Printer Sharing is Enabled:

  • Go to Devices and Printers from the Control Panel.
  • Right-click on your HP Smart Tank 525 printer and select Printer properties.
  • Go to the Sharing tab.
  • Check the box for Share this printer and provide a share name if necessary.
  • Click OK to apply the changes.

Check Printer’s Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is connected to the network and is turned on.
  • Check whether the printer is set as the default printer.

Firewall Settings:

  • Sometimes, the firewall can block printer sharing.
  • Ensure that your firewall settings allow printer sharing. You might need to add an exception for printer sharing in your firewall settings.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your HP Smart Tank 525 printer.
  • Visit the HP Support Website to download and install the latest drivers.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your PC and your HP Smart Tank 525 printer. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.

Check Network Type:

  • Ensure that your PC network is set to Private. Printer sharing might be restricted on a Public network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
