Hi @Cami64,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for your patience, you’re right to be concerned about the HP printers failing to print PDFs or any documents after updating to macOS 15.6.1 (Sequoia). Here's what’s happening and how to fix it:

Why You Don’t See macOS as an Option on HP’s Driver Page

HP’s driver support site may not yet list macOS 15.6.1 because:

  • The OS is new, and HP is still updating compatibility.
  • HP is shifting toward AirPrint and HP Easy Start instead of traditional drivers

1. Use HP Easy Start for macOS

HP recommends using their updated installer: 👉 HP Easy Start Mac | HP® Support

  • This tool auto-detects your printer and installs the correct software.
  • It bypasses missing drivers and configures AirPrint if needed.

2. Reset the Printing System

  1. Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list.
  3. Select Reset Printing System.
  4. Re-add your printer using HP Easy Start or AirPrint.

3. Use Generic Driver (Temporary Workaround)

If HP Easy Start doesn’t work:

  • Add the printer manually.
  • In the “Use” dropdown, select Generic PCL or PostScript Printer
  • This may restore basic printing functionality.

4. Update Printer Firmware

  • Visit Official HP® Support and enter your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
